East Meets West
Here is a shot at a KFC, where we'd stop to use their free wireless. Can't say we tried any of their food, since there is only so much one can eat! It is startling to see so many examples of cultures converging-not only Malay, Indian, and Chinese- but the American influence is especially bizarre, despite its inevitability. Am bringing back a Muslim head scarf as shown in the photo. My students need more of a glimpse into the everyday aspects of this misunderstood culture.

It is fun to see how our franchise fast food morphs in other areas. My guess is that the fried chicken there isn't really much like it is here. Bonus.
