Two Bicycles, Slow Food, Hard Cider

The six year anniversary of sharing one car. We did the math, and even if we hadn't drained our United frequent flier accounts to finance the tickets to Spain, we could've easily rationalized the extravagance with the "one car" family argument and my 3-day work commute (though turning 40 and a downright crappy 2008 should be enough of a justification). And so we fly off on Sunday, first to Barcelona, and then a speedy bus trip to the North Coast, where we'll rent bicycles for 2 weeks and ride from town to town, eating tapas, drinking hard cider, pondering the difficulty of building a stone house, and consider returning someday for the 500 mile pilgrimage walk to Santiago de Compostela. Pack obsessive amount of broad spectrum sunscreen: check. Distribute random grades to students to save time: check.
