Sadly, I've caught my first cold in a few years. Taipei has nothing on Colorado in terms of air quality, and the particulates are helping to morph this thing into a full-blown cold. The upshot is that being sick has made the world pass by at a much slower and more manageable pace. Yesterday's fuzzy MRT journey featured a young man and his friend not only helping a blind man onto the train, but checking in with him several times throughout the journey, and then ensuring his safe passage off the train.The people of Taiwan truly are amazing.

Eating and Sneezing in Taipei
It truly is a joy to watch Casey eat, and in Danshui he gleefully consumed plates of crab, shrimp, and sashimi with abandon as we watched more rain pummel Taiwan's coast. (The boat ride out to the wharf was a major highlight for us). When I see Casey eat, I'm always reminded of the time Grandma Radovich stood over his shoulder watching him consume her freshly prepared bowl of fish-head soup, and how she has loved him ever since.

That plate of sashimi is way too pretty to eat.
Sorry about the cold. Maybe it is time to check out Taiwan's medical system or stop by drug stores for some remedy. With Casey's instinct, there should be no problem to locate some steaming hot soup. Get well.
